A book changes lives—first of the writer, and then of the reader.
That is “The Magic Spell of a Book.”
Might sound ridiculous, but this phrase felt whispered to me. It resonated like something ancient, and true. I wrote it down in a journal, drew a sun around it, highlight it in yellow, and then googled it—to see if there were other products or books by the name. What I came across sent shivers up my spine. The only place I found it was in Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography.
He wrote about how one book transformed his whole life—his purpose, his priorities, his path—specifically in these ways:
• Living simply.
• Working tirelessly for the good of others.
• Balancing profit with purpose—often choosing purpose.
• Recognizing the alchemy of a book’s power.
The discovery of Gandhi’s chapter, which was, yes, entitled “The Magic Spell of a Book,” made me realize (or want to, anyway)—that the quote chose to be the name of the kit I was creating.
May the “Magic Spell of a Book” Kit become a helpful ritual as you write, pitch, publish, and promote your book—each stage of which could reshape your life, as well as impact the lives of all those who read your words.
